The Antique Phonograph Society has published a fairly comprehensive guide to the Edison Standard, circa 1898 - 1913, by Martin Kauper (also knows as my most excellent spouse).  I post it herein for anyone looking for period detail about the Edison Standard, and also because it's simply a pretty cool machine.

One of the great public services of SFWA is the Writer Beware Blog, wherein Ann Crispin and Victoria Strauss battle to educate writers about the many scams and bad-dealers out there.  In doing do they’ve made enemies, and news about the doings of the Write Agenda are all over the blogosphere - their maliciousness and douchebaggery are pretty well ( Read more... )

(My youngest left last night for her East Coast trip, after which I will be the mother of two high schoolers.  Today she is in Boston, and will go on the Duck tour. Tomorrow she will visit Lexington Concord, where two of her ancestors fought.)
